The Florida Fair Trade Coalition (FFTC) brings together diverse labor, environmental, social justice, faith and farm organizations working together to create socially, economically and environmentally just trade policies. As an affiliate of the national Citizens Trade Campaign, the Florida Fair Trade Coalition has been active in the fight against the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA), Fast Track-Trade Promotion Authority, the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) and other NAFTA-style trade agreements, while advocating for alternative fair trade models through legislation such as the Trade Reform, Accountability, Development and Employment Act (TRADE Act).
The FFTC mission emphasizes education for action. We use our members collective knowledge to educate, organize, and mobilize citizens and organizations in order to reshape trade policy so that workers, the environment, family farmers, human rights and democracy come before narrow and selfish corporate and/or geopolitical interests. If another world is possible we believe that we can begin building it by addressing and changing the systemic problems which have perpetuated our current exploitative trade regime.
