It also played a major role in the 2016 presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>For far too long, U.S. trade policy has been set by corporate lobbyists cutting back-room deals outside of the public eye. The consequences of corporate-centered trade deals like NAFTA have been disastrous for working people and the planet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our position is simple: those vying to be president should be asked explain their vision for fair trade policy well before any elections.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/org.salsalabs.com\/o\/1034\/p\/dia\/action4\/common\/public\/?action_KEY=23670\">Please sign this petition saying you want to hear 2020 presidential candidates\u2019 positions on trade policy in the upcoming debates.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We will continue to deliver this petition to debate hosts, moderators, news outlets and others to ensure that trade policy is one of the issues candidates are asked to address.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A PDF with links to the candidate positions described above is online here.
