Dallas Speaks Out Against Job-Killing FTAs

Members of North Texas Jobs with Justice, Communications Workers of America Local 6215 and the Sierra Club held a vigil outside the Dallas A Maceo Federal Building this afternoon to protest outrageously-high unemployment levels and pending Free Trade Agreements with South Korea, Panama and Colombia which promise to send unemployment levels even higher.

Bob Cash of the Texas Fair Trade Coalition and Nancy Hall of CWA 6215 (pictured here) spoke about the dangers posed by these trade pacts, the largest of which even the federal government’s own International Trade Commission says will increase the overall U.S. trade deficit.

Approximately twenty demonstrators passed out leaflets to passersby and held vigil against government policies that reduce employment in Texas and beyond.
