Rock Against the TPP

Citizens Trade Campaign is proud to partner with legendary guitarist Tom Morello (Prophets of Rage, Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave), Golden Globe-nominated actress Evangeline Lilly (Lost, The Hobbit, Ant-Man) and our friends at Fight for the Future on Rock Against the TPP, a series of concerts and other events designed to drag the blood-sucking corporate vampire that is the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) into the light of day and watch it burn.

“Working people everywhere have had enough,” said Morello.  “The TPP is nothing short of a corporate takeover of our democracy.  That’s why people are rising up to stop it.  Corporate lobbyists want to sneak the TPP through Congress quietly; that means it’s time for us to get loud.”

“Whatever you’re passionate about, whether it’s human rights, internet freedom, climate change or food safety, the TPP is a bad deal for humanity, and a threat to the future of democracy,” said Lilly.  “The more people learn about the TPP, the less they like it.  It’s our responsibility to sound the alarm, before it’s too late.”

Rock Against the TPP starts with a kickoff show in Denver on July 23, followed by stops in San Diego on July 30, Seattle on August 19,  Portland on August 20, San Francisco on September 9, Toronto on September 16, Boston on October 7 and Pittsburgh on November 3, with more events being announced shortly.

In addition to the concerts themselves, people will also have the opportunity to participate in teach-ins, trainings and protests designed to bring thousands of new voices into the fight against the TPP.
